“What a great TEAM of players you have working with you. They were always professional, courteous, and punctual. In addition to their knowledge and competency, all of the people demonstrated a strong work ethic and they were always very thorough in their cleanup every day. Your people take great pride in their work and it shows in the quality of the end product. We also appreciated the open lines of communication. You always kept us up to speed on where we were and what to expect next. You were always willing to take the time to answer our questions and offer us suggestions. Doug, your commitment to complete the remodel job in just about six weeks was a tough challenge but you and your associates have proven that they can get it done. We were so pleased that the job was completed from start to finish on schedule. When friends and family came over for the first time after the remodel, they were in awe of the transformation from the old to the new. We are so enjoying our new kitchen and bath. We had a great experience working with you and we will highly recommend you to anyone.”
“I am very pleased to recommend to you the work of Douglas Burns and his associates. In 2002 Doug completed the remodel of my kitchen and two bathrooms, including plumbing and electrical upgrades. In addition, he installed new windows throughout the house, refaced the brick fireplace and hearth with stone, installed some new base and door moldings, did drywall repair, and other miscellaneous work. All work was completed as agreed upon and with very high quality of workmanship and integrity. I would not hesitate to contract with Doug again in the future. In fact, Doug would be the first (if not the only) person I would call!”
“About ten years ago, a good friend remodeled their kitchen. My friend raved about how easy it was working with Doug Burns and the kitchen was beautiful. When I decided to remodel this year, I contacted the same company. My friend had done a lot of research and selected Burns Kitchen and Bath. Over the years, she has referred many friends to them and everyone was happy. So honestly, I didn’t look any further and hired Doug to do my kitchen. I considered re-facing, but honestly wanted a fresh start and gutted the entire kitchen.
From demolition to completion they were very professional. They let me know what the schedule was and who was going to be in my home, and when I needed to be there and when I didn’t. The lock box gave me flexibility to come and go and not be tethered to the house. Doug did the kitchen design and really knew how to work with my small kitchen to give me the maximum usage of the space. Doug’s son, Adam, did most of the work and I found him pleasant and easy to have around. All of the other trades people they hired were excellent and very professional.
I was especially thrilled with the help of Alexis in the decorating and style decision process. She met me multiple times at various locations in San Diego to choose the stone, tile, appliances and knobs. Her expertise was invaluable.
I would hire Burns Kitchen and Bath again and I highly recommend them.”
“Doug was involved with the kitchen remodel from the beginning to end and he hired only the best subcontractors…people who are masters at their craft, and very personable and professional as well. The quality of the materials equals the quality of workmanship. The cabinets are beautiful and have a wonderful finish. The interiors look great too. The drawers and shelves roll very nicely. The kitchen remodeling process was easier than we could have expected. Doug is the “dream” contractor. He’s honest, punctual, creative, dependable, knowledgeable, friendly, professional, and a perfectionist. We give Doug Burns and his crew our highest recommendation.”

“He has a rare quality in contractors: integrity about keeping his promises to show up and/or complete work by a specified time. Nothing irks me more than arranging my very busy schedule to meet with a contractor or worker, maintaining my own commitment to showing up punctually, and then being stood up. Likewise, I by far prefer realistic estimates of a project’s cost or completion schedule than a pleasant-sounding but ultimately empty promise. On neither of the two kitchen remodel projects did I feel disappointed: Doug never showed up late (much less not at all), nor did he ever surprise me with “hidden” costs. And because he closely oversees the contractors who work for him, Doug’s associates are held to the same standards he has for himself. Equally refreshing is Doug’s great design eye. As an artist/designer myself, and an avid cook, I am very persnickety about how I want my kitchen to look and function. Much to my surprise, Doug had much better ideas than I did about how to arrange both the spaces we remodeled. Since he’s been in the business for many years and is a cook himself, he’s got an excellent sense of the efficiency as well as the aesthetics of a kitchen’s working space. Considering that we took out two walls, repaired some beams in the ceiling, ripped out and re-did the subflooring, relocated the washer/dryer and hot water heater (as well as continued gas and electrical lines) to the garage, added several electrical circuits and did the usual replacement of cabinetry, flooring, countertops, lighting, and plumbing- five weeks from start to finish was pretty fast. During none of those five weeks was my project standing idle while Doug worked on others, so I am confident it couldn’t have been completed any faster than it was. As you easily see, I highly recommend that you choose Doug Burns and Associates to do your kitchen because I feel sure you won’t be disappointed.”

“We would like to take this opportunity to recommend Douglas Burns and associates for the following reasons: First, Mr. Burns himself called on us during the initial stages of bidding our kitchen remodel. Later he personally delivered the quote and answered our many questions regarding construction. Once awarded the job, he was on hand to supervise the work. Second, all the subcontractors used by his company were as highly qualified at their jobs as Mr. Burns. Third, the entire project was completed in a timely manner (45 days). And finally, when several problems arose after construction (i.e. a manufacturer’s flaw in a sliding glass door, etc.) Mr. Burns and his subs responded quickly and to our complete satisfaction. Having been through other construction projects in the past, it was refreshing to work with as professional a company as Douglas Burns and Associates. For the above reasons we heartily recommend Douglas Burns and Associates for any kitchen remodel or general construction project.”

“I highly recommend that you consider Doug Burns for the job-he did a fantastic job for us. Doug knows kitchen design. Although we knew what we wanted done, he made several recommendations that improved the design considerably. Doug is very personable and a pleasure to work with. The quality of his work is excellent. The contractors who did our countertops were extremely pleased saying that the quality of the cabinet installation made their work easier. Doug was always on time. If he said he was going to be there to start work at 7:30 AM, he was there ringing the doorbell at 7:30 AM. In addition, the plumbing and drywall contractors that he used also showed up on time. The best part is that the job only took one month. He started to rip out on March first and completed the job on the 31st. Again, we highly recommend Doug for your kitchen remodeling needs.”
